PC - Rhythm - 1 Player

Nextlahualli (inanimate, a person sacrificed or a blood offering) - Nahuatl

In a team of 5, over 48 hours, I pitched the idea, made the world building, the level design and the balancing.

I pitched the idea, made the references for the level art & design, then worked with the programmer on the general rules of the game.
We also worked in duo with another game designer to make the Itch.io page, which you can find here :  https://zhanko.itch.io/nextlahualli

I mostly took care of the line work on this page.

I also timed the animations of the little music makers on the sides.

Improvement axis

The game is very hard.
We clearly did a bad job on the balancing of the difficulty, as the indications for the input to make the poses disappears too soon.

With the addition of having to move the character without bumping in another dancer nor going out of the circle and the poses to time, it is definitely a game for hardcore rhythm game fans.

And it lacks a bit of feedback.

Fall Guys

PC - Platformer - Multiplayer

As the game now includes a feature allowing you to make maps, I like to use it to try out different layouts.

This one is called Pillow Mountain and is based on a desire to work on verticality. The players have to use the fans to go inside the pyramid. Then they have to climb it and survive a dangerous slide to reach the finish line. I also tried to work on the environment with the few assets provided.

Sexy Sumo Bagarre Enjmin

PC - Fighting - 2 Players

Made during Enjam 2022.
In a team of 6, over 36 hours, I joined a bunc
h of friends who wanted to make a fighting game. And since I wanted to experiment new things, I took care of the game art.

This mostly led to the creation of incredible gifs.

I used the motion capture room we have at school to make videos of people posing as fighters and cleaned as best as I could a few movements to make FMV inspired animations that the programmers integrated depending on their needs.

SSBE is not downloadable, as the designers still want to work on it before release.

Super Pal'tatoe's Escape to Fonkky Town

PC - Platforming - 1 Player

Made during Trainjam 2020.
In a team of 5, over 48 hours.

This is the very first game I ever developped in a team. Antoine and I designed the 3Cs and made the World Building together. He then focused on the Level Design while I worked on the differents texts in game and made the Sound Design.

​

At the same time, Simon and Simon (Yes, they are both named Simon) integrated and programmed the game while Horace was working on the Game Art.

I don't have much of a feedback on SPEtFT, as I made the game with the sole intention of having fun with people I had just met.

​

It has been a great occasion to get used to Reaper, which allowed me to tweak all of the sounds I had made using my mouth to make them fit the game.  I also modified the end game music, which is a free licence piece, to add onomatopeas of the game.

​

Funnily enough, we got 1st place in Sound Design.
