Charlotte "Shouil" Defives

Junior Game & Narrative Designer

Looking for a junior position starting September 2024
Focus on: Narration, UX & Systems

Former lighting technician for the cinema industry, I majored from ENJMIN in Game Design
Proactive, altruistic and always positive, I ask the good questions and try my best to bring great game experiences to players!

Game Design

How will we play this game? What pillars will we follow? Does my design fit with the experience we are making?

Asking questions and finding answers is, to me, one of the most satisfying things in game design. I am extremely curious, and iterate all the time on all sort of everyday things. I love understanding how something works, and see how I can transform it to fit other needs.

Coming from a job in electricity, I naturally got interested in general game design, patterns, and how to open a door in 36 ways.  Lately, I got the opportunity to design a wheelchair controller for VR in Date Night. I also enjoy prototyping, on personal projects.

Narrative Design

Through a love for writing, music, game design and cinema, I have worked with amazing people on the creation of game universes with immersive narratives.

Wether enclosed in the polar station of Cold Trust, where mysteries and deaths are to be investigated, or in Date Night's third age dating scene, I have always done my best to conceliate gameplay and storytelling to bring player oriented experiences to life.

Level Design

From bouncy climbing challenges in Fall Guys to a gloomy retiring home in Date Night, I love imagining and creating paths for the players to make their own gaming experience.

Helped by a curiosity for psychology and space occupation, I love iterating with different layouts and gameplay possibilities.
